Privacy Policy

Effective September 4, 2026. Last reviewed on the date shown at the bottom of this page.

The short version: this site itself doesn't run ads, trackers, or analytics, and it doesn't hold your email or payment details on its own servers. Signing up for the newsletter hands your email to Substack; buying something hands your payment details to Gumroad. Both are described below, with links to their own policies.

What this policy covers

This policy covers quietmillion.com — the pages, essays, and product listings hosted on this domain. It does not cover Substack (where the newsletter and podcast are published and where subscriptions are processed) or Gumroad (where digital products are sold) — those are separate companies with their own privacy policies, linked below.

Information this site collects directly

Browsing quietmillion.com doesn't require an account, and the site doesn't set its own tracking or advertising cookies. The web server that hosts these pages keeps standard access logs — the kind any web server keeps — recording things like IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time of the request. These logs are used only to keep the site running (spotting errors, abuse, or traffic problems) and aren't sold or shared.

If you send a message through the contact form, that message and your email address are kept as part of normal correspondence, for as long as needed to handle the conversation.

Newsletter & podcast signup — handled by Substack

The "Subscribe" links and forms on this site submit directly to Substack (quietmillion.substack.com), not to this site's own server. Substack collects your email address, and your name and payment details if you take a paid plan, in order to deliver the publication and manage your subscription. Substack may also use that information for its own purposes as described in its policy — including its own service communications — separate from anything QuietMillion does.

Read Substack's own policy at substack.com/privacy. You can unsubscribe or manage your subscription at any time from the link in any QuietMillion email, or from your Substack account settings.

Purchases — handled by Gumroad

Product links in the Shop go to quietmillion.gumroad.com to complete the purchase. Gumroad, not this site, collects and processes your payment details, billing information, and email address (to deliver the file and receipt), acting as the merchant of record for these digital products.

Read Gumroad's own policy at gumroad.com/privacy.

Cookies

quietmillion.com does not set its own cookies. If you follow a link to Substack or Gumroad, those sites may set their own cookies under their own policies once you're there.

Other links out

Pages here link out to Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and similar platforms for listening to the podcast. Once you leave quietmillion.com for any of these, their own privacy policies apply — this policy only covers this domain.

Children's privacy

QuietMillion is not directed at children, and the site does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the newsletter or shop, contact Substack or Gumroad directly (they hold that data, not this site) — or use the contact form and we'll help point you to the right place.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter or podcast at any time via the link in any email, or in your Substack account.
  • Request, correct, or delete data Substack or Gumroad hold about you directly through their own support channels — they're the ones holding it.
  • Ask us anything about how this site itself works via the contact form.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the "Effective" date at the top of this page will update. Continuing to use the site after a change means you've seen the current version.
